Sanah Aslam, M.D., is a Refractive Cataract and Complex Anterior Segment Surgery Fellow with Oakland Ophthalmic Surgery, serving patients in Birmingham and Troy, MI. She is passionate about providing exceptional, patient-centered care with a focus on the latest innovations in vision correction and cataract surgery.
Dr Aslam is originally from Georgia and completed a rigorous 7-year BS/MD program, earning both her undergraduate and medical degrees through an accelerated and highly competitive track. She went on to complete her ophthalmology residency in Detroit, where she distinguished herself through excellence in clinical care, research, and education. During residency, she received top honors for her research contributions, her score on the Ophthalmic Knowledge Assessment Program (OKAP) examination, and was nominated by her fellow residents for the Most Compassionate Physician Award.
Dr. Aslam is actively involved in several national ophthalmology organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), Women in Ophthalmology (WIO), and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS). She is committed to lifelong learning and is always enthusiastic about integrating emerging technologies and surgical techniques into her practice to enhance patient outcomes.
Outside of the clinic and operating room, Dr. Aslam enjoys an active lifestyle that includes pilates and biking. She also finds joy in gardening and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.
